Horse Racing legend AP McCoy has been announced as the headline speaker for this June’s ukactive Flame Conference 2015.

McCoy, who is currently on course to become Champion Jockey for a record breaking 20th consecutive year, bowed out of Cheltenham Festival last week and is expected to retire when the current season concludes at the end of April.

The 40-year-old will address an audience of 900 key stakeholders in the physical activity and leisure sector as part of the Flame 2015 agenda. Additional speakers are due to be announced in the coming weeks. Last year’s line-up featured futurologist Magnus Lindkvist, parkour pioneer Sébastien Foucan and England rugby hero Will Greenwood.

In addition to the speakers, Flame Conference 2015 has a programme of panels and breakout sessions that explore key topics from digital health and wearable technology to boutique activity trends, entrepreneurialism, corporate branding, activity holidays and beyond.

The Conference will be followed by the ukactive and Matrix Flame Awards – a black tie event which honours excellence across the sector, with hundreds of nominees vying for the coveted accolades.

“I am absolutely thrilled to welcome AP McCoy to deliver the keynote speech at Flame this year,” said ukactive CEO David Stalker.

“His career-spanning endurance, drive and dedication coupled with the wisdom and good humour for which is he known, is a perfect fit for our conference.”
