To mark the 60th anniversary of the end of World War II, Guildford Museum will offer visitors the opportunity to experience the impact of the war on everyday life in Guildford from the 30 April.
Testimony collected from people will bring to life the Blitz, rationing, the female war effort and life as an evacuee.
A number of artefacts will also be on show to demonstrate the hardship of the time. In one such display, visitors can compare their own weekly food intake to that consumed by an average person during the war.
The exhibition was funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) and is being designed to particularly appeal to children.
School groups will be able to book an interactive workshop with a number of veterans – including a Land Girl, a German soldier, evacuees, and a child living in Guildford.
The exhibition is free and will run until 23 July.
