Job Title: Events Manager
Responsible to: Jo Sparrow, General Manager and Head of Marketing
Provides services to: Directors and other staff as required
Hours: 40 hours per week based on Monday to Friday (9am to 5.30pm) plus weekend and Bank Holiday work as appropriate to the needs of the business. Holiday: 28 days per annum including bank holidays.
Salary: Salary will be commensurate with experience.
Contract: Fixed Term Contract based on one year. Role to be reviewed towards the end of the contract period.

The Role
We’re looking for a creative personality who can independently manage multiple events, meet deadlines and work to budget. The ideal candidate loves creating an event strategy as much as rolling up their sleeves to do the operational side whilst taking responsibility for flawless execution.

As Events Manager, you will be responsible for both leading the development and delivery of the full Tractor Ted annual events programme at a selection of venues across the UK and Republic of Ireland as well as develop opportunities for the business through the management and delivery of existing Tractor Ted visitor attractions (Little Farms) as well as developing new opportunities within the visitor attraction industry.

The high-profile programme of family and children-focused events include the showcase Tractor Ted Big Machines Weekends, Tractor Ted Feature Events along with attendance at Agricultural and County Shows and retailer support. The nature of these events requires exceptional customer engagement and attention to detail. Dreams of young fans can be made or broken subject to the level of experience provided.

The successful applicant will be responsible for all areas of development and delivery with internal support on operations and health and safety.

Key Responsibilities / Events
Key responsibilities will include:
- Strategic event planning including the development of project timelines and managing resources and budgets to create a robust and profitable events portfolio
- Manage, develop and co-ordinate a dedicated events team to support on the day events
- Manage and develop a close relationship with third party event organisers and venues
- Collaborate with colleagues across finance, sales and marketing
- Ensure standards are kept exceptionally high across all areas of delivery
- Take ‘ownership’ of events with the ability to measure customer reactions and make recommendations on new event ideas and/or innovations be they immediate or long term

Key Responsibilities / Visitor Attractions
Key responsibilities will include:
- Management of existing visitor attraction relationships to ensure key component of Tractor Ted strategy through marketing, retail and event support
- Development of new relationships within the visitor attraction industry (including historic houses) to create a new, robust and sustainable income stream for the business.

Requirements
- Proven experience in managing events from start to finish. Solid background in the events and/or visitor attraction industry.
- Exceptional organisational skills. Ability to work to deadlines and manage costs and budgets.
- Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal.
- Strong negotiation skills with venues, third parties, sponsors and key stakeholders.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Flexible approach. Positive attitude, thriving under pressure. Ability to motivate and lead teams.
- It's a full-on role within a small team so working in collaboration with the entire team is key.

Other
Due to the nature of the job, the ideal candidate will be adaptable to working hours, especially around events where you will be required to attend and be away for a maximum of 5 nights at a time.
