Beatrix Potter’s classic children’s character Peter Rabbit is getting his own adventure play area after Willows Activity Farm in Hertfordshire, UK, announced plans for a £1m (US$1.5m, €1.3m) expansion of its site.

Peter Rabbit Adventure Playground will be based on the modern animated CBeebies iteration of the character, which originally appeared in 1902, with an opening date set for 2 April.

Designed by Finland-based themed activity attractions designer and developer Lappset Creative, in partnership with Silvergate Media, the world first Peter Rabbit adventure play area will include Peter Rabbit’s Secret Treehouse, Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle’s Kitchen and Lily Bobtail Nature Discovery.

“We wanted to bring Peter Rabbit to life for children who love watching the animated series,” said Thomas Merrington, VP of brand and creative at Silvergate Media.

“The beautiful countryside setting, coupled with their focus on wholesome active play makes Willows the perfect place to do this. 2016 marks 150 years of Beatrix Potter and this is a fabulous way to ensure her most famous creation, Peter Rabbit will be enjoyed for generations to come.”

In addition to the expansion, Willows will be re-theming its existing adventure play facilities to incorporate Peter Rabbit, as well as a new restaurant and daily meet and greet sessions with Peter Rabbit and Lily Bobtail.
