Active IQ and CIMSPA unite for qualification partnership
POSTED 29 Jul 2014 . BY Jak Phillips
CIMSPA chief operating officer Tara Dillon says the new qualifications will extend the management and leadership development options available to its members
Training provider Active IQ has teamed up with The Chartered Institute for Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA) to help launch a series of new management and leadership qualifications.

The qualifications, which include the first level 5 NVQ Diploma in Management and Leadership, will launch in October. As part of the agreement, Active IQ will be endorsed by CIMSPA as its “awarding organisation partner for leisure operations and management”.

Active IQ’s new management apprenticeship framework has been developed to suit employers of all sizes and across all sectors in England. It aims to provide “high quality” nationally-recognised programmes, which will attract new talent into management and enhance the existing workforce, making businesses more “productive, efficient and more profitable,” according to Active IQ.

The new qualifications launching in October include:
• Active IQ Level 3 Diploma in Management (QCF)
• Active IQ Level 4 NVQ Diploma in Management (QCF)
• Active IQ Level 5 NVQ Diploma in Management and Leadership (QCF)

“The new relationship will able us to deliver an even higher level of qualification, offering more career progression for course learners, and help support the future developments and training within the leisure and management sector,” said Suzy Gunn, operations director at Active IQ.

All qualifications will be professionally recognised by CIMSPA and carry the CIMSPA logo, with the intention that this will aid professional development within the industry sector.

Tara Dillon, chief operating officer for CIMSPA, added: "Qualifications such as the new level 5 diploma will extend the management and leadership development options available to our members, with plenty of choices also ready for those starting their careers in the sport and activity sector.”
