Leela Palaces reveals its new brand identity
POSTED 09 Apr 2013 . BY Aoife Dowling
The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts has unveiled a new brand identity, including a new logo and a revamped website, designed to express the groups transformation over the past 25 years.

The project was based on an 18-month analysis of guest feedback and includes signages, advertising, guest facing materials, sales and marketing collaterals and amenities.

The revamped identity is a result of a collaboration with branding experts: Landor Associates, Paris; Rare Medium, Atlanta, US; and Indian calligrapher, Satya Rajpurohit.

The group currently has plans to double its portfolio in the next four years, adding four new luxury hotels and two branded Leela Residences to its portfolio.

The new logo, designed by Landor Associates, is a monogram expressed in traditional Indian calligraphy. A copper hue as seen in a tail of a peacock – the national bird of India – will also feature in the logo.

The new website designed by Rare Medium, will be fully optimised for iPads, iPhones and other mobile applications.

The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts owns and manages eight properties across India including Mumbai, New Delhi, Gurgaon, Bangalore, Chennai, Goa, Udaipur and Kovalam.

New properties under development include Jaipur, Bangalore, Noida, Agra and Lake Ashtamudi, Kerala.
