Welsh environment minister Jane Davidson has launched a new 27-mile (43.5km) coastal path between Prestatyn and Llandudno in North Wales.
The path - developed with Welsh Assembly Government and the European Regional Development Fund funding - aims to provide walkers and cyclists with improved access to the coastline.
It is hoped the new route will also contribute towards plans for the development of a path around the entire Welsh coastline by 2012, as part of the Assembly Government's One Wales commitment.
Davidson said: "I hope that local people will make the most of opportunities to walk and cycle along the path and that it will encourage people to live more active and healthy lives, in line with the Assembly Government's Change4Life programme.
"I want to improve access to the coast, not only for walkers but also for people with disabilities, cyclists, and families with pushchairs, and the path has been designed very much with this in mind."
