Splash and Bubble encourages children to explore marine biology and science |
 |
Sally Corporation has announced a new partnership with Herschend Enterprises that will see the company develop a new family dark ride based on hit animated show Splash and Bubbles.
The series, which is co-produced by The Jim Henson Company and Herschend Studios, Herschend Enterprises’ media arm, is a ‘character driven comedy’ that encourages children to explore marine biology and ocean science. It is targeted at children aged between two and eight.

The new attraction will take riders on an underwater adventure across the globe with the show’s titular characters, Splash, a yellowback fusilier fish and Bubbles, a Mandarin dragonet.
Sally Corp, which debuted the concept for the ride at the IAAPA Attractions Expo in Orlando, Florida in November, will serve as the project’s creative producer, and will oversee the ride’s marketing and distribution in addition to its overall development.
John Wood, chairman and CEO of Sally Corporation, says: “Splash and Bubbles presents an excellent opportunity to provide family fun to a whole new sector of the theme park industry including water parks and aquariums.”
“Working with a proven IP from The Jim Henson Company and Herschend Studios gives us an excellent platform to create a truly magical experience in a ride-through attraction that can be both meaningful and fun. We are very excited about the opportunity,” he says.
Andrew Wexler, CEO at Herschend Enterprises, says: “We are well-equipped to give families a new way to experience this beloved series in a variety of venues including theme parks, aquariums and other entertainment settings.”

attractions, and family-friendly hotels. But the offering that truly stands out with fun
for everyone is Studio City Water Park – Macau’s first stand-alone water park, with all
the water slides and aquatic play structures supplied by WhiteWater. |

Eye tracking AI Aquarium from ITRI helps visitors identify fish species |
 |
It can take a while for visitors to identify the species of fish they’re looking at in an
aquarium – trying to match them up with information on an information panel can take time
and isn’t always straightforward. Now a new aquarium by Taiwan’s Industrial Technology
Research Institute (ITRI) helps by exhibiting marine life information in real time
according to visitors’ line of sight. |
