An Otterbine fountain has become the focal point of the Watersports Lake at the Center Parcs holiday village in Elveden Forest, Suffolk.
Situated in the heart of the site, the lake is used for a range of activities, from canoeing and windsurfing to sailing and fishing.
The 10hp Orion aerating fountain features a two-tier spray pattern comprising a vertical column that can throw water 6.7m high and a 17.4m-diameter fan spray.
Center Parcs needs to regulate the force of the water in order to compensate for blustery conditions and so the fountain is configured to speed up or slow down in response to wind speed.
At night the fountain takes a more sophisticated form, providing a multi-coloured lighting display. The unit is fitted with two light clusters and the pattern of the lenses is changed to create different coloured effects.
The fountain was installed by Norwich-based irrigation contractor, Autoflow Systems Limited.
