Gripsure has supplied a bespoke 500m boardwalk for Cornwall, UK visitor attraction The Lost Gardens of Heligan.
The non-slip decking boards have been created for the ‘Jungle’ garden at the site, replacing the previous walkway which consisted of wooden boards covered with chicken wire.
The new boards are plain faced, giving a more traditional look than Gripsure’s other decking products, and have been designed to be both safe and to complement The Lost Gardens of Heligan’s historic collection of plants.
With 170,000 people expected to walk on the boards annually, they have also been created with durability in mind. Each board features three strips of anti-slip aggregate and will remain slip-resistant even when faced with water, leaves and moss, according to Gripsure.
The boardwalk forms part of The Lost Gardens of Heligan’s wider project to enhance the Jungle experience, with a new rope bridge added and landscaping of one of the four ponds taking place.
