We couldn’t be happier to showcase the leisure industry’s success in a destination as iconic as London
– Peter van der Schans |
For the first time in more than a decade, industry leaders from across the global attractions industry will once again gather in London as part of the annual IAAPA Expo Europe, the sector’s premier international event.
With the continued economic rebound and the lessening of pandemic-related restrictions, industry professionals will come together to learn, buy and network at the ExCeL London.
Since our last conference in London, we rebranded from the Euro Attractions Show. Now, we’re going to make a triumphant return to the UK capital with more than 490 exhibitors and 15,000sq m of trade show floor space, compared to 300 exhibitors and half the floor space used a decade ago.
IAAPA Expo Europe 2022 will take place 12-15 September (conference: September 12-15 and trade show: September 13-15).
It’s anticipated that thousands of international attractions industry leaders, decision-makers and visionaries from all segments of the industry will attend, including manufacturers, suppliers, and the owners and operators of theme and amusement parks, water parks, family entertainment centers, zoos, aquariums, camping facilities, shopping centers, cruise lines, retail development companies, science centers, museums, resorts and more.
“The anticipation for the industry’s leading international event can only be likened to the UK’s excitement during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebration,” said Peter van der Schans, executive director and vice president of IAAPA EMEA.
“We couldn’t be happier to showcase the leisure industry’s success in as iconic a destination as London.”
With an education conference packed with insights about sustainability, guest experience, and technology, combined with special events and EDUTours, this year’s expo promises to be one of our best.
We hope you join us in London!

How surf simulators are transforming the experience economy |
 |
The experience economy, driven by evolving consumer trends, is poised for continued growth
in the coming years. Millennials have been at the forefront of this shift, favouring
memorable experiences over material possessions. This preference has extended to other
generations as well, indicating a broader adoption of experience-focused spending habits
in the attractions sector. |

Eye tracking AI Aquarium from ITRI helps visitors identify fish species |
 |
It can take a while for visitors to identify the species of fish they’re looking at in an
aquarium – trying to match them up with information on an information panel can take time
and isn’t always straightforward. Now a new aquarium by Taiwan’s Industrial Technology
Research Institute (ITRI) helps by exhibiting marine life information in real time
according to visitors’ line of sight. |
