AV kit from Electrosonic for new Chinese dark rides |
|
AV company Electrosonic has supplied full projection systems and screens, the main show control system, 4D effects, audio and lighting for two new movie-based dark ride attractions in China.
The company worked with Huss Attractions - which built the ride system - and Super 78 Studios - which supplied the creative content - on Flight of the Dragon at OCT's Happy Valley theme park, Shanghai, and on Flying America at the OCT Window of the World site in Shenzhen.
Flight of the Dragon replicates an aerial journey over China showing landscapes, built-up areas, terraced farming and mountain ranges. Flying America depicts the US from the perspective of its cities, landmarks, national parks and countryside.
Each attraction features three ride arms with 30 seats per arm in rows of 10. The ride arms move in conjunction with the video images and sound effects, giving the feeling of flying over the scenery of each country as wind effects, spurts of water and scents are delivered at appropriate moments.

Small Footprint, Big Significance: Studio City Water Park |
|
Long known for its fancy casinos, Macau realized within the past decade that it must
diversify its tourism scene to attract new crowds. With the ambition of becoming the
leisure hub of China’s 72-million strong Greater Bay Area, the city began adding shows,
attractions, and family-friendly hotels. But the offering that truly stands out with fun
for everyone is Studio City Water Park – Macau’s first stand-alone water park, with all
the water slides and aquatic play structures supplied by WhiteWater. |

The experience economy, driven by evolving consumer trends, is poised for continued growth
in the coming years. Millennials have been at the forefront of this shift, favouring
memorable experiences over material possessions. This preference has extended to other
generations as well, indicating a broader adoption of experience-focused spending habits
in the attractions sector. |
