The Wales Tourism Alliance is to launch a study into the future of tourism in the country this month.
The report, which will be used as the basis for an action plan for industry, has the backing of the Welsh Assembly Government’s tourism minister, Rhodri Glyn Thomas.
The survey aims to produce a SWOT analysis (the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) of the sector and identify key market trends of the future.
To be based on an exhaustive consultation process with industry players, the analysis will be used to asses whether any short-term changes are required to the existing national tourism strategy for Wales.
