A group of former coal miners have helped to create a new colliery experience for visitors to Snibston Discovery Museum in Leicestershire.
Due to open to the public on 19 February, the colliery tour will feature a recreated coal face, a pit pony stable and mining equipment exhibited in one of the former Snibston Colliery buildings.
The team includes former miners, museum staff and volunteers, and the experience has been supported by the Volunteering, Internship and Placements project.
Leicestershire County Council owns and operates the museum.
