Tramway in Glasgow, Scotland, has been selected by Tate from a shortlist of four art venues to host the 2015 Turner Prize, making it the first Scottish gallery to host the exhibition and award.
The shortlist for the Turner Prize is announced in spring each year and recognises the work of British artists under the age of 50.
Nicholas Serota, director of Tate, said Glasgow had gained a reputation as a centre for excellence in the visual arts and many Turner Prize nominees and winners had been from Scotland.
