Thorpe Park, near London in the UK, is to introduce Europe’s first sky-swat ride to visitors later this year.
The Slammer, built by S&S, will open at the park on 16 March and offer riders a 105ft free fall.
The ride is based on two giant, swinging and rotating paddles which will turn on their axis’ while at the peak before “slamming” towards the ground and performing a 360 degree spin.
The Slammer’s towers are 20m high and its rotating arm reaches a peak height of 31m. It is only the second rotary thrill ride to be built by S&S.
