Thinkwell wins Seoul Grand Park competition
POSTED 14 Jan 2010 . BY Martin Nash
Multi-media company Thinkwell has conceived and developed the winning entry in an international competition designed to revitalise Seoul Grand Park in South Korea.

Seoul Grand Park is a 560-hectare site containing two zoos, The Seoul Museum of Modern Art, the SeoulLand amusement park and a rose garden. The Seoul Metropolitan Government sponsored the competition to gather ideas for improving the public space for citizens and to better position it as a regional and international tourist destination.

Thinkwell came up with Gaia: The Living World, an integrated edutainment project which combines conventionally separate sectors into one comprehensive experience, combining the amusement park, zoo and botanical garden with new attractions into a one-of-a-kind destination. The company designed every element of a guest's visit, which includes more than 50 rides and attractions such as a simulated flight encounter. Another attraction invites visitors to walk across a treetop canopy among animals of the forest, while elsewhere are lush botanical gardens and traditional animal exhibits.

Led by engineering and architectural design company, AECOM, the winning team also included Ga-One Landscape Design, Group Han Associates and Bernard Harrison & Friends.

Thinkwell specialises in the creation of unique content-driven guest experiences, master plans, story-driven attractions, brand experiences, exhibits and environments. Its clientele is made up of museums, theme parks, Fortune 500 companies and destination resorts, including Harrah's Entertainment, Dubai Properties, Nike, House of Blues, Thor Equities, Paramount Parks, Universal Studios and others.
