Adventure Island theme park in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, has broken the world record for the largest number of naked people riding a roller coaster.

A total of 102 people took part in the fundraising event which was organised to generate income for the Southend Hospital Charitable Foundation's Bosom Pals Appeal.

The previous record of 32 - set in 2004 at Alton Towers, was easily beat.

Adventure Island executive chair Philip Miller said: "It's been an absolutely superb day with people all enjoying the chance to do something memorable, good fun and raise a large amount of money for a fantastic, local charity.

"People have travelled from all over the UK to take part and we've heard some amazing stories from so many who have been directly, or indirectly, affected by cancer and wanted to give something back. I am really proud Adventure Island could offer them this opportunity."
