The Metropolitan Police has launched a new crime prevention scheme for tourists visiting the UK in association with Virgin Atlantic.
A three-minute video will be played on flights into the UK as part of Virgin Atlantic’s in-flight entertainment. It will cover basic safety advice – such as not leaving bags unattended – cash point safety and tips on dealing with street crime.
The scheme was conceived at a Marylebone Against Crime Group meeting in August 2003 as an effective way to target large audiences bound for the capital. Details: www.met.police.uk
