TEA launches TEA Digital to keep attractions industry connected throughout COVID-19 outbreak
POSTED 30 Mar 2020 . BY Lauren Heath-Jones
TEA immediate past president Michael Mercadente will speak on the President's Forum, one of TEA Digital's online panel discussions

This is an opportunity for our members to become more digitally engaged. With TEA Digital, we continue to support the community to stay strong and connected, and in touch with the changing face of our industry
– Jennie Nevin, COO of the TEA
The Themed Entertainment Association (TEA), has launched TEA Digital – a new online initiative designed to provide education, professional development, discussion and digital networking opportunities for TEA members, as well as keep them connected during the current climate.

The online scheme offers a weekly programme of digital content, including daily online events from Monday to Thursday. Events include forums, chats and digital mixers, as well as webinars and watch parties hosted across a range of platforms including Linkedin and Facebook.

The TEA Chat, taking place on Mondays on Linkedin, is an online forum where TEA members can connect and discuss various topics posted on the Themed Entertainment Association LinkedIn group.

On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, TEA Digital offers Tuesday Digital Mixers and Wednesday Webinars. The Digital Mixers, accessible via GoToMeeting, are an online networking event hosted at several locations on the same day, while Wednesday Webinars are educational panel discussions available on GoToWebinar.

The TEA #TBT Watch Parties take place on Thursdays via Facebook. Members will be able to watch content live with other members and discuss via the comments section.

Education sessions will include a panel discussion with former TEA presidents

In addition, TEA Digital has announced plans for an online job fair. The TEA Digital Job Fair is set to launch at the end of Q2/beginning of Q3 2020 and will offer new ways for TEA members to connect, as well as introduce employers and applicants to discuss job skills, interviewing and work opportunities.

"In keeping with our culture of networking and teamwork, TEA Digital offers multiple forums to connect, learn and identify opportunities," said TEA International board president Michael Blau.

"TEA represents the creators of compelling places and experiences of the worldwide visitor attractions industry, such as theme parks, museums, visitor centres and world expos.

"We will tap into our best and brightest TEA leaders and masters of their craft, and others in our brain trust. We will tap our extensive archives from the TEA Summit, TEA SATE conferences and the TEA Thea Awards, and the library of TEA publications. We will create relevant new content as well."

Jennie Nevin, COO of the TEA, said: "This is an opportunity for our members to become more digitally engaged. With TEA Digital, we continue to support the community - as the association has done for three decades - to stay strong and connected, and in touch with the changing face of our industry as well look forward to eventual recovery."
