Scottish tourism firms have been urged to capitalise on the predicted growth in the mountain biking sector over the next five years, which is expected to be worth £155m to the country.
The market is currently worth £119m a year to the national economy, although it is expected to grow by nearly a third and is now Scotland's second most popular adventure activity.
Tourism Intelligence Scotland has published a mountain biking guide to help companies to take advantage of the growth as part of its Opportunities for Growth Series.
Scottish Enterprise tourism product development manager Katrina Morrison said: "Mountain biking is so much more than a niche market for adrenalin-junkies.
"It offers the perfect social activity for families, an alternative day out for older couples, and an exciting new challenge for beginners."
