The Scottish Parliament at Holyrood in Edinburgh is now rivalling the House of Commons as the UK’s most visited political attraction.
In the first year of opening, the parliament building attracted only 10,000 fewer tourists than the Commons.
In response to this unexpected popularity, the parliament tour will now be offered daily as well as being extended by 15 minutes. The size of the tour groups will also be reduced from 25 to 20 visitors.
The Scottish Parliament is the only parliament in Europe to provide a free crèche service to visitors, which is provided on both a reservation and a drop-in basis. Details: www.scottish.parliament.uk
