The Firelands Chapter of the American Red Cross, Ohio, in co-operation with Cedar Point amusement park, is holding an auction for 'thrill-seekers' who want to be among the first riders on the record-breaking Top Thrill Dragster.
The Red Cross is auctioning seats on the rollercoaster to the 96 highest bidders, with bids starting at $75. A winning bid will include breakfast at the park, a commemorative medallion, an inaugural ride on Top Thrill Dragster and complimentary admission to the park, which opens on 4 May.
The ride reaches a top height of 420 feet and top speed of 120mph. Bids are being accepted until 30 April. Proceeds from the auction will help fund a variety of Red Cross programmes. Details: www.firelandsredcross.org
