A new ‘Milestones of Flight’ exhibition at Hendon’s Royal Air Force Museum was opened to the public on 18 December.
Housed within a new, stainless steel-clad building and celebrating the 100th anniversary of aviation, the ‘Milestones of Flight’ exhibition has split-level viewing and features a selection of RAF aircraft alongside classic planes from America, Germany, Japan and France
The exhibited aircraft have been suspended using state-of-the-art techniques while other features of the new exhibition include cutting-edge screen displays, touch screen plinths and a vast timeline wall.
In total, all the new developments at the Hendon museum add up to over six years of work, 150 aircraft movements and a cost of £7.4m. Details: www.rafmuseum.org
