Plans by a theme park in eastern England will mean the Lincolnshire coast gaining its own version of the London Eye.
The 250ft high, £10m Eye on the Coast Big Wheel will open next year at The Magical World of Fantasy Island and be one of a number of new attractions to celebrate the indoor resorts tenth anniversary.
The wheel will have 40 rotating gondolas, each carrying six passengers, which will feature a pre-recorded commentary highlighting points and places of interest visible as the wheel turns.
Fantasy Island, at Ingoldmells near Skegness, is operated by Blue Anchor Leisure and chair, John Woodward, said: "The sky’s the limit as far as we are concerned. If it’s feasible to build and viable to operate, then we bring it to Fantasy Island." Details: www.fantasyisland.co.uk
