One of the largest spas in the Four Seasons portfolio is set to open in early 2015 at the Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay in the centre of the Kingdom’s capital city, Manama.

Scheduled to launch on 1 March 2015, the 273-bedroom hotel – designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill – rises 68 stories above the Bahrain Bay on its own 12-acre oval-shaped man-made island. Restaurants, meeting spaces, terraces, gardens and the enormous spa complex are found at the base of the structure.

The 37,512sq ft (3,485sq m) spa is set to include 17 treatment rooms, five different pools – including one for children – a hammam, sauna, whirlpool, indoor spa pool, two relaxation lounges with juice bars, a beauty salon and barber shop.

Designed by Pierre Yves-Rochon, the spa – which is to be operated in-house by Four Seasons staff – will use products by Sodashi and ila. The facility is fully out-fitted with spa equipment by Gharieni GmbH, including its Quartz beds.

Two fitness centres will also be included in the wellness facility.

The property will feature seven food and drink outlets, and should guests venture outside the complex, they can travel to the nearby Royal Golf Club, the Manama Souq (a traditional market), Bahrain National Theatre and the Riffa Fort – once home to the ruling family of Bahrain, Sheikh Salman Bin Al Fateh.
