It has been reported by News.gov.hk that the Hong Kong Government is expected to receive a report from independent experts on the Ngong Ping Skyrail incident by September.
The Skyrail – which opened to the public in September 2006 and links Tung Chung town centre to a cultural theme park on Lantau Island – was closed on12 June after an empty car fell 50m (164ft) to the ground. No one was injured.
Operations have been suspended until further notice and a temporary bus service is transporting visitors to the attraction park while health and safety checks are being carried out to establish the cause of the event.
