Plans are underway to create a new theme park as part of an urban development in Ningbo, China.
Cincinnati-based Jack Rouse Associates is to master plan and design the 30-40 acre park, which is being commissioned and overseen by the NETD, a government organisation charged with creating a 39.6sq km development zone in the port city of Ningbo.
As the first step in the process, JRA has created a fairy story around which the park will be developed. It is inspired by the phoenix, the mythological firebird and symbol of happiness in Chinese culture. The story follows the adventures of two children who are on a quest to claim their true destinies.
The park, which is located at the base of Ningbo's Phoenix Mountain, is being developed under the working title, Phoenix Gardens. Details: +1 513 381 0055
