Transport for London has announced that its Routemaster bus fleet is to be removed from most of the routes it currently serves and restricted to those serving tourist attractions.
Popular with visitors to the capital as the archetypal red double-decker London bus and for its hop on and off open platform, the Routemaster was introduced in the 1950s and originally designed to last 17 years.
