The National Museum of Crime & Punishment (NMCP) in Washington D.C., US, has put the vehicle belonging to one the most famous serial killers in history on show for the first time.
Ted Bundy’s 1968 Volkswagon Beetle, which was used in a slew of women’s murders from 1974-77, was previously kept in a private collection until it arrived at the NMCP.
According to the museum, the vehicle will serve not only as a unique artefact but also as “a teaching tool for museum visitors to learn how to avoid becoming victims of vicious criminals such as Bundy”.
The VW replaces the 1933 Essex Teraplane that John Dillinger used as a getaway car, which has been moved to the Baltimore Washington International Airport.
