Merlin signs software deal with Accesso Technology Group
POSTED 01 Apr 2014 . BY Jak Phillips
Trials of the suite will take place at the UK's Thorpe Park, with the option of a roll-out at any of Merlin's global attractions
Accesso Technology Group, the attractions and leisure solutions provider, has secured a master service agreement with Merlin Entertainments, a deal it hopes will lead to further business across the attractions giants’ US$6bn (€4.3bn, £3.6bn) global empire.

The agreement means Merlin can now utilise the Accesso Passport suite of ticketing and e-commerce solutions across a three-year term, starting with a trial installation of the Accesso eCommerce Suite at the UK's Thorpe Park Resort.

The suite also supports the attraction’s onsite sales with traditional point-of-sale, mobile point-of-sale and self-service kiosks through a cloud-based platform that offers lower operating costs, advanced features and improved data access versus legacy software models.

While the trial will be with Thorpe Park, the contract also opens up the opportunity for Accesso technology to be installed anywhere across the Merlin portfolio, which includes London Dungeons, Legoland, Sea Life and the soon-to-be unveiled Shrek attraction.

“Clearly, the most exciting aspect is the chance to extend our work with Merlin, which is home to a team that delivers outstanding park experiences in many corners of the world,” said Tom Burnet, Accesso CEO.

“To extend our reach into another of the world’s largest operators is a big win. At the same time, however, today’s agreement is evidence that our plans for the Accesso business are working.”
