The Lord of the Rings film trilogy will be the subject of a new exhibition at London’s Science museum this autumn.

Developed and presented by New Zealand’s Te Papa Tongarewa Museum in partnership with New Line Cinema, the exhibition is family-orientated and will open at the Science museum on 16 September and run until 11 January 2004.

Hundreds of Lord of the Rings artefacts are promised and special features of the exhibition will include models, prosthetics – including Orc teeth and Hobbit feet – animatronics, interactive computer and mechanical demonstrations of the technology used during the trilogy.

The exhibition will also include a scaling interactive allowing visitors to become Hobbit-sized and an “armour corridor” featuring weapons belonging to some of the main characters from the three films.
