Cork’s newest visitor attraction has been launched on the banks of the River Lee.
Lifetime Lab, a multi-disciplinary project aiming to educate visitors about environmental issues, was created by design and communications company Imagination.
The site includes an interactive visitor exhibition, a future adventure playground, a schools resource centre and conference suites.
The interactive exhibition features four sections – water, energy, natural environment and human environment – with hands-on interactive for each themed section aiming to educate visitors on issues surrounding sustainable living.
The attraction has been built on the city’s old waterworks site, which Cork City Council decided to redevelop for its year as Europe’s Capital of Culture in 2005.
Ursula Morrish, Imagination's account director for the project, said: "The challenge was to create a unique and visionary destination, using the heritage of Cork City waterworks to demonstrate Cork's vision of a world of sutainability and sustainable living.
"We needed to bring to life to the proposition of sutainability and to create an entertaining, informative and interactive experience which was suitable for all visitors and in particular, appealing to children." Details: www.imagination.com
