Universal Studios Hollywood has announced the addition of two popular IPs to its park in 2018 –
Kung Fu Panda and
Hello Kitty Created in partnership with Universal Creative and DreamWorks’ Artists, the DreamWorks Theatre will replace the existing Shrek 4-D attraction, playing host to a variety of DreamWorks themed attractions starting with
Kung Fu Panda.
Utilising state-of-the art projection mapping and LED lighting effects, the multi-sensory theatre will host an animated show, but beyond that details are scarce, with Universal promising “captivating storytelling” and a “highly engaging and immersive, unstoppable-awesome experience.”
Following on from a 2015 partnership between Universal and Sanrio, the popular
Hello Kitty franchise now comes to Universal Hollywood in the form of retail. Arriving in Hollywood following its March 2016 debut at its Orlando park, custom-designed
Hello Kitty merchandise will incorporate classic Universal titles such as
Jaws,
ET and
Back to the Future, while there will also be photo opportunities with
Hello Kitty characters at the park.
