Japanese airport attraction offers four floors of Boeing experiences
POSTED 11 Oct 2018 . BY Luke Cloherty
Flight of Dreams stretches over four floors and is home to the Boeing 787 Dreamliner ZA001
Chubu Centrair Airport in Nagoya, Japan has launched a new in-airport visitor attraction with the first on-display Boeing 787 Dreamliner – the ZA001 – as its marquee centrepiece.

Flight of Dreams stretches over four floors and, beyond the 787 ZA001, has an animated virtual tour of Boeing’s Everett assembly plant, a space to make and fly paper airplanes that trigger sound and light if they fly far enough and a streetscape of Boeing’s hometown of Seattle.

Beyond these features, there is an app-supported scavenger hunt, where visitors scramble to find all the parts of the 787 and a 787 simulator.

Boeing donated materials to the airport due to the company’s local connection – about 35 per cent of its parts are produced in the Nagoya region.

"The wings and other major structures manufactured by our partners in the region literally took flight from here," said Brett Gerry, president of Boeing Japan. "You could say that ZA001 has come home."

There is a dining and shopping space within the attraction, called the Seattle Terrace, which is where visitors can view the streetscape, which is free entry. Entry to the rest of the attraction costs around 1,200 Yen (US$11, €9.50, £8).
