The number of foreign tourists arriving to the UK has increased during 2013 - with analysts attributing the growth to increased interest in Britain as a destination following the 2012 Olympic Games.
A report from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) shows that Visits to the UK from countries outside of Europe and North America continue to rise in line with the pattern seen in 2011 and 2012. Year to date there has been a 9 per cent increase in the number of visits from these countries.
The domestic tourism market has been further strengthened by a decrease in Britons taking holidays abroad.
During the period February to April 2013, UK residents' visits abroad were down by 3 per cent compared with the corresponding period a year earlier.
