The De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill-on-Sea is to get a £7m facelift after being promised grants of £6m from the Arts Council and the Heritage Lottery Fund.
Opened in 1935, the pavilion has undergone some restoration over the last ten years, including the refurbishment of the 1,000-seat theatre and an art gallery.
Under the latest proposals by the Pavilion Trust, two new wings will be added to house community functions rooms and an administration block. The rest of the Grade I listed building will be restored to house performing arts spaces, cafés and bars.
