Plans to transform an area of derelict land into a local nature reserve on the outskirts of Rhuddlan, North Wales, have been handed a £141,500 funding boost.
Denbighshire County Council's (DCC) Countryside Service has received grant aid from the Welsh Assembly Government's Strategic Regeneration Area scheme and CADWYN Clwyd's under the Rural Development Plan.
The Countryside Council for Wales, DCC and a donation from businessman Raymond Fagan have also contributed funding towards the plans, which aim to create and improve wildlife habitats and provide access through the site.
It is hoped that the scheme will also attract more visitors to the town, linking up with a number of Rhuddlan's other tourist attractions, such as Rhuddlan Castle and Twt Hill.
