The Rt Hon. Hugh Crossley of Somerleyton Estate in Fritton, Norfolk, is set to open a boutique hotel on his 5,000-acre estate grounds on 1 May.
Following a £500,000 refurbishment of a 16th century Grade II-listed building, the new hotel – called Fritton House – will offer a brasserie and restaurant and nine bedrooms individually designed by Isabel Cator.
Fritton House is aimed at both business guests visiting Norwich, Great Yarmouth or Lowestoft and leisure guests on short breaks.
Crossley said: “The restaurant will use home grown and locally sourced produce.”
On 28 April a new visitor centre also opened on the estate at Fritton Lake. It includes a children’s play area with miniature ride-on tractors and a ball game corner as well as a gift shop and a café. Details:
