Four Seasons has opened the doors to a brand new luxury hotel spa in downtown New Orleans, within its Four Seasons Hotel New Orleans.

According to the hotel group, the wellness facility is inspired by the allure of the bon vivant lifestyle and a hint of excess.

“In our concept, we drew inspiration from the city itself,” says Mali Carow, GM of the hotel, “New Orleans is a city known for indulgence and celebration.”

At 5,525sq ft, the spa offers eight treatment rooms – including a couple’s room with a soaking tub. A highlight is the facility’s relaxation lounge boasting expansive views of the city and the Mississippi River.

Design elements include the use of raw white oak, shutters, grey travertine, rattan and the abstraction of wrought iron silhouette-projecting lamps.

Spa and wellness consultancy Blu Spas was brought on board to conceptualise the spa – the first facility in the state to offer products and treatments from French skincare brand Biologique Recherche.

Cary Collier, Blu Spas co-principal, comments: “This spa is all about treatment experiences in sumptuous environments, where whatever is ailing you fades away once you pass through the spa doors.”

The spa’s wellness menu features a selection of massages, facials, wraps and brow and lash treatments. A quarterly programme of visiting experts will also launch in the coming months and see sought-after US aestheticians and wellness therapists host exclusive events at the spa.

Additional facilities include a steamroom, cool mist experience, separate male and female locker rooms enhanced with steamrooms and saunas, as well as a retail boutique.

The boutique offers favourites from Biologique Recherche, along with stylish lifestyle products.

The spa and wellness experience also extends outdoors onto the hotel’s rooftop pool deck. The space features a crescent-shaped mosaic-tiled infinity pool – claimed to be the largest pool in the city – alongside loungers, a separate spa tub, and four cabanas available for private rental.

Meanwhile, fitness enthusiasts can satisfy their activity goals with a visit to the hotel’s 24-hour gym designed by celebrity fitness instructor Harley Pasternak.

The new wellness facility is helmed by spa director Toni Sullivan, who has over 20 years of experience in leading spa teams across the US.

She comments: “As a passionate wellness and beauty professional, I’m completely delighted to be a part of something very different here – our beauty atelier spa concept.

“With our guests being out and about, celebrating and exploring, the ability to look good and feel good instantly is the perfect way to spa in New Orleans.”

About the hotel
Developed by Carpenter and Company and Woodward Interests, LLC, Four Seasons Hotel New Orleans includes a 341-room hotel and 92 private residences and opened in the summer of 2021.

The property is owned by Two Canal Owner LLC, in which both developers are partners.
