A large urban wellness retreat has launched in Las Vegas at the recently-opened Fontainebleau Las Vegas
Covering 55,000sq ft, Lapis Spa & Wellness is home to a 44-treatment-room spa with an array of facilities
The two-floor spa is a sister location to the original Lapis Spa at Fontainebleau Miami Beach in Florida
The facility is being helmed by industry veteran Jennifer Lynn (director of spa and wellness)
Luxury resort and casino Fontainebleau Las Vegas has unveiled its two-floor wellness retreat complete with a 44-treatment-room spa and comprehensive fitness facilities.

Developed by Fontainebleau Development, the 67-storey urban property in Nevada is home to 3,600 rooms and has taken almost two decades to realise.

The spa, called Lapis Spa & Wellness, was realised by Milan-based designers Lissoni & Partners and is located on the second level of the Fontainebleau Las Vegas tower, adjacent to the resort’s 14,000 sq ft fitness centre.

The two destinations collectively form the Fontainebleau Las Vegas Wellness Corridor.

“The Lapis Spa represents the convergence of age-old rejuvenation techniques and contemporary healing technologies,” explained Jennifer Lynn, director of spa and wellness.

“It is more than an escape; it’s a transformative sensory journey executed with personalised precision.”

The new facility is a sister spa to the original Lapis Spa at Fontainebleau Miami Beach in Florida. Its namesake draws reference from lapis lazuli, a deep blue crystal associated with the protective qualities of strength, courage, power and wisdom.

Spa amenities
The new urban retreat features an array of wet and thermal experiences. This includes men’s and women’s hydrotherapy lounges (including vitality pools, steamrooms and saunas), cold plunges, a snow shower, one of the US’ largest Aufguss saunas, a salt mist chamber and seven experience showers.

Additional amenities include three recovery lounges, infrared saunas, a herbal inhalation room, a nail salon and the Co-Ed Celestial Waters space – a multi-sensory room with communal healing waters, customised by season, time of day and desired mood.

Guests also have access to a VIP spa suite, capable of accommodating six to eight people and serviced by a spa butler. A private vitality pool, sauna, steam shower, treatment tables and a food and beverage area completes the offering.

In addition, the spa is home to the Reboot Lounge, with 12 relaxation loungers. Here, guests can opt for a foot and lower leg treatment using Theraguns, while they sip a wellness shot and watch nature scenes projected onto the walls.

Spa menu
Lapis Spa offers several signature services, including massages, body treatments, facials, Ayurvedic therapies, manicures and pedicures.

Equipped by Gharieni and Oakworks, the spa is partnered with Dr. Barbara Sturm, Geneo X, Shankara Naturals, Knesko Skin, Celluma Light Therapy and Osea.

Additional partnerships include deals with Book4Time, Mansfield Robes, IGK, CryoConcepts, O.P.I., Poggesi, Ojmar and Oka-B.

Wellness-inspired design
To help guests best achieve their wellbeing goals, the spa has been designed to regulate natural circadian rhythm.

Lapis Spa's atmosphere is transformed daily through immersive sensory elements using aromatherapy and lighting, starting off with a calm atmosphere in the morning and transitioning into a more vibrant energy through the afternoon.

Fitness amenities
Fontainebleau Las Vegas' fitness centre is designed for functional and performance-based workouts and equipped with Peloton bikes, Woodway treadmills, Hydrow rowers, VersaClimbers and Echo bikes.

In addition, the gym's Performance Zone houses advanced strength equipment, such as Jacob’s Ladder, HIIT modular system, sled pushes, and a tractor tire flip area.

Yoga, Pilates, stretch and recovery classes and personal training services are also available at a Movement Studio.

More about Fontainebleau Las Vegas
In addition to the wellness facilities, the new Fontainebleau outpost features more than 550,000sq ft of convention space, a collection of restaurants and shops, pool experiences and nightlife options.

The substantial development has opened adjacent to another major Las Vegas resort, Resorts World, which opened in 2021 with a 26,000sq ft Blu Spas-designed wellness facility. Read Spa Business’ first-person write-up of the location's Awana Spa here.
