The latest venue in English Heritage’s (EH) £1.5m initiative to incorporate modern design into historic landscapes has opened to public at Portland Castle, in Dorset.
It is the fifth development in the EH’s Contemporary Heritage Garden programme, and has completely transformed the castle’s Governor’s Garden.
Designed by Chelsea gold medal winning garden designer, Christopher Bradley-Hole, the garden is based on a circular amphitheatre.
The new amphitheatre seats around 200 people and will host events including theatre and musical evenings. Details: Tel: (00) 44 1305 820 539
