Dreamworld unveils new events spaces
POSTED 23 Oct 2007 . BY Tim Nash
Two new undercover event venues have been unveiled at Dreamworld and WhiteWaterWorld on Australia’s Gold Coast, The Shell and The Dream Room.

A dedicated executive chef and a new event management team have been appointed for the venues.

The Shell, located at the edge of WhiteWaterWorld, covers 1,300sq m with the capacity for 2,500 people, or 1,000 people seated and can either be open to the waterpark action or enclosed with pull-down sides.

The silk-lined Dream Room, within Dreamworld itself, is 675sq m and has the capacity for 500 seated guests.

Dreamworld’s National Events Manager, Jennifer Neville, said the push to launch the new venues was fuelled by the successful hosting of Amway delegates in 2006.

“When our owners realized we could impress 5,600 international incentive delegates after dark, they decided to go for it and invest in two all-weather event venues for use during and outside park operations.

“To have these permanent event areas with immediate access to exotic animals, iconic attractions and heart thumping thrill rides gives MICE planners a whole new set of options and lends well to progressive gatherings,” she said.

“We can set the tone of the event by bringing unusual animals like our Bengal Tigers as well-loved TV characters like Sponge Bob to greet delegates before progressing to areas of the park that have been transformed into magical new worlds. Delegates can then move to either of our two event venues for lavish banquets and further entertainment.” Details: www.themeparksgoldcoast.com.au
