Deep Sea World in North Queensferry, Scotland, has opened the biggest extension to the site since the launch of the aquarium in 1993.
The new attraction, called Seal Sanctuary, has been built in association with the Scottish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) and will be dedicated to the rehabilitation and release of orphaned and injured seal pups from the east coast of Scotland.
The injured animals will be joined at the site by a number of resident seals which will live permanently on the site.
Deep Sea World is operated by Deep Sea Leisure, which became part of Spanish leisure firm Aspro Group in August 2002.
