VisitLondon – formerly the London Tourist Board – is organising a free concert for 10,000 people on 31 August to show off the new-look Trafalgar Square.
David Gray and Morcheeba are the first two acts to be confirmed with others to be announced soon.
The event is designed to kick-start the next phase of VisitLondon’s Totally London campaign and is being funded by the Mayor’s London Development Agency.
David Campbell, chief executive of VisitLondon, said: “Trafalgar Square is the London stage for gaining international profile for the city, the event is therefore an excellent way of starting the next phase of our campaign to recover tourism.” The concert will start at 5.30pm and end at 9.45pm.
