Cirque du Soleil meets fine dining in multi-sensory gastronomic concept
POSTED 02 Jul 2015 . BY Tom Anstey
The 10-year collaboration between Laliberté and the Adrià brothers will include the likes of body-painters, dancers, international electro DJs and more
A new multi-sensory restaurant, theatre and dance venue, created by Cirque du Soleil founder Guy Laliberté and renowned culinary masters Ferran and Albert Adrià, has opened in Ibiza, Spain, with a gastronomic concept designed to merge food, music and art.

Heart Ibiza, located inside the Ibiza Gran Hotel, is divided into three spaces – the terrace, supper and club. The restaurant and entertainment complex has a capacity of up to 1,000 people and offers what its owners call a “musical, artistic and gastronomic theme park for adults.”

The 10-year collaboration between Laliberté and the Adrià brothers will include the likes of body-painters, dancers, international electro DJs, interactive 3D art, virtual reality installations, and a palette of experimental world flavours, all set to a timed choreography that will change on a daily basis.

The Heart Terrace is an all-you-can-eat buffet concept, laid out across 1,500sq m (16,100sq ft) as a street market, complete with live performance artists and food stalls offering international cuisine.

Supper Heart offers an operatic dining experience, with each dish presented to its own operatic soundtrack, a soundtrack which will slow down or speed up depending on the tempo of the meal.

The Cirque du Soleil element comes in at Club Heart, which will feature international DJs spinning tracks to a choreography of lights, video projections and live Cirque du Soleil performances.

Throughout the venue, walls and spaces will be lavishly furnished and decorated with work from artists including Takashi Murakami, digital artist Miguel Chevalier, Gim Hong Sok and Rafael Lozano. Two international galleries – Ventana Contemporary Ibiza and Art Projects Ibiza – will curate the ever-changing artwork present around the venue.

Admission to Terrace starts at €80 (US$112, £57); the Supper experience is €150 (US$209, €106) and tickets to the Club are €50 (US$70, £35).
