The first ever World Leisure EXPO will open in Hangzhou, China, on 22 April 2006 and run for six months.
The event – which is being organised by World Leisure, The City of Hangzhou and the Songcheng Group – has been designed to celebrate the diversity of leisure and explore its capacity to improve people’s social, cultural and economic quality of life.
It will also showcase the latest examples of leisure design, policy, facilities and equipment. Most of the activities will take place at the US$1bn (£600m, 800m euros) World Leisure EXPO Gardens, which are currently under construction.
