The Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) has announced that Stockport's Bramall Hall has moved a step closer to securing nearly £1m towards a conservation and redevelopment programme.
Stockport Council has been awarded a first-round pass worth £67,200 to allow it to draw up detailed plans for much-needed repairs and improvements to the Grade I-listed property.
The project aims to establish Bramall Hall and park as a 'regionally important' heritage site, with upgraded access and learning opportunities for residents and visitors.
Sara Hilton, head of the HLF North West, said: "This proposed project would both conserve the historic built fabric whilst creating new opportunities for visitors from near and far to explore, learn about and enjoy this fascinating building."
