Mendips, the childhood home in Liverpool of former Beatle, John Lennon, opens to the public for the first time on 29 March.
Donated to the National Trust by Lennon's second wife, Yoko Ono Lennon, it was her wish that the house should be preserved very much as it was when John lived there, presenting the early experiences that helped inspire his genius.
She said having bought the house, she wanted to preserve it for the people of Liverpool and for John Lennon and Beatles fans everywhere. She hoped that efforts made to preserve the property would contribute to Liverpool's increasing resurgence. Details: www.nationaltrust.org.uk
