Bannatyne Group bolsters Crewe club with £500,000 facelift
POSTED 16 Jun 2016 . BY Jak Phillips
Paul Axford, general manager at Bannatyne Crewe, expects the new focus on functional training to prove popular with members
The Bannatyne Group has breathed new life into its Crewe health club with a £500,000 upgrade.

The operator is currently working through a £16m investment programme to update its 66-strong estate, with a renewed focus on technology and functional training.

The latest refurbishment follows hot on the heels of its Tower 42 club relaunch and suggests the company is eager to maintain momentum in the run up to its expected £300m flotation on the stock market.

The Crewe health club now boasts a new functional training area featuring a Queenax Rig, enabling up to 20 members to work out simultaneously on the equipment.

The club has also upgraded its technology offering with the installation of virtual class studios, MyZone heart rate monitors and Technogym’s mywellness app, which allows members to keep track of their fitness progress and complete challenges on their smartphone.

“The new gym floor at Bannatyne Health Club Crewe is fantastic. Our members will certainly feel and see the benefits from the state-of-the-art equipment, which will help them to reach their fitness goals more effectively,” said Paul Axford, general manager at Bannatyne Crewe.

“I’m sure that the Queenax Rig will be a big hit with members. Functional training is the way the industry is progressing, with a focus on training movement patterns rather than isolation of individual muscle groups.”
